Dive deeper into school censorship

Our Public Education and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committees are offering a program to help us further understand the censorship taking place nationally, as well as here in SC.

On the heels of the state Superintendent of Education’s efforts to institute the most severe ban on reading in the country and the LWV’s Action Alert to fight it, we’ll have an interactive event to probe the issues and the advocacy opportunities.

We’ll watch a Ted talk by Jonathan Friedman, a scholar and free speech advocate, and then discuss the presentation. The virtual Zoom event is February 22 at 6 p.m. The event is free but registration is required.
