2023 Candidate Forums

The Greenville LWV, in partnership with Greater Good Greenville and the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce, is hosting two candidate forums ahead of the upcoming election. Both events are free to attend.

The first, at 6 p.m. on Oct. 16,. will feature mayoral candidate Michelle Shain and incumbent Knox White; and two candidates vying for the at-large city councillor seat — incumbent Dorothy Dowe and challenger Randall Fowler. There will be time before and after the forum for attendees to meet and talk to the candidates. The event will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wade Hampton High School Auditorium.

The second forum, on Oct. 18, will feature candidates for Simpsonville mayor and council. They are: For mayor, Janice Curtis and incumbent Paul Shewmaker; for Council Ward 1, Erin Medlin and Chad O’Rear; and for Council Ward 5, Tim Pinkerton and Jermaine Smith. There will be time before and after the forum for attendees to meet and talk to the candidates. The event will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Simpsonville Arts Center.

Election Day is Nov. 7 but early voting will be open from Oct. 23 through Nov. 3. Information on Early Voting times and locations.
