What brought you to the LWV in Greenville?
My 93-year-old mom was a League member in Miami, so I was aware of the League from early on. I had been a two-time president with Rotary, which has a similar civic focus. I joined LWV-Greenville in 2020, when I was starting the podcast. It seemed a natural fit with my passion for voting rights and women’s rights.

What would you like to see Greenville LWV do in the next year or so?
I’d like to see us do more education in high schools. Civics is not taught anymore and that gap needs to be filled.

What is the most surprising/interesting thing you’ve learned from being in the LWV?
I’ve met so many nice people. I’ll admit I was surprised at the number of folks I’ve found here that I consider like-minded. In terms of the area, I enjoy the fact that there is a lot going on around here, with the downtown music events and all of the great people.

What is the best place you’ve traveled to?
It’s hard to choose. I recently traveled to Costa Rica for the first time. I loved the focus on sustainability, the fresh, natural food, the beauty and the birds!
